USCIS-Ready Immigration Document Translation

Navigating the U.S. immigration system is challenging enough without worrying whether your documents will be accepted. Every year, thousands of immigration applications face delays or denials because supporting documents were either not translated or the translation failed to meet USCIS standards. Don’t let a preventable paperwork issue stand between you and your immigration goals.

Nepali Linguist provides USCIS-ready certified translations of Nepali-language documents for immigration, naturalization, visa, and asylum applications. Our translations are formatted, worded, and certified exactly as USCIS, the National Visa Center (NVC), and U.S. immigration courts require.

USCIS Translation Requirements — What You Need to Know

USCIS regulations (8 CFR 103.2(b)(3)) require that any document in a foreign language submitted as part of an immigration application must be accompanied by a “full English translation” that is “certified as complete and accurate.” The certification must be signed by a person “competent to translate.”

Every certified translation from Nepali Linguist includes:

  • A complete, verbatim translation of the original document
  • A signed Certificate of Accuracy with the translator’s printed name, signature, date, and contact information
  • A statement that the translator is fluent in both Nepali and English and competent to perform the translation
  • Proper formatting that mirrors the original document

Important: USCIS does not require translations to be notarized. However, notarization is available upon request for peace of mind or for third-party requirements.

Common Immigration Application Scenarios

  • Green Card Through Marriage: You need certified translations of your marriage certificate, your spouse’s birth certificate, and possibly divorce decrees.
  • Parent or Sibling Petition: Birth certificates of both the petitioner and beneficiary must be translated.
  • Adjustment of Status (I-485): All identity and civil documents not in English require certified translation.
  • Consular Processing (DS-260): The NVC requires all civil documents to be translated before the visa interview.
  • Naturalization (N-400): If your birth certificate or marriage certificate is in Nepali, you need certified English translations.
  • Asylum (I-589): All supporting documents originally in Nepali must be translated and certified.
