सामान्य वर्तमान कालको प्रयोग साधारणतया हुने घटना र सधैँ सत्य हुने घटनामा हुन्छ । यसको निर्माण निम्न तरिकाले गर्न सकिन्छ । खान्छ, गर्छ, माया गर्छिन्, मन पराउँछु आदि भन्न यसको प्रयोग गर्न सकिन्छ । I, we, you, they, plural सँग verb 1 (infinitive) प्रयोग गरिन्छ भने he, she, it, singular सँग verb5 प्रयोग गरिन्छ ।

always, usually, sometimes, never, etc. जस्ता अभिव्यक्तिसँग पनि यो tense प्रयोग हुन सक्छ ।
